Top 20 All-Time Video Games

Filed under: General Commentaries — Andy @ 1:24 pm

***THIS WAS UPDATED ON JUNE 13, 2007***

I like to make lists for no reason and this is one i was thinking about recently so I went ahead and made it.  I’ll preface it with the fact that I’m not a big fan of RPG’s, real time strategies, and first person shooters.  Either too boring or i suck at them.  I really enjoy adventure, platformers/side scrollers, racing, puzzle, and sports.  Also, I’ve basically only owned Nintendo systems but thats because I’ve never felt a reason to own another system.  Nintendo has the best first-party/exclusive titles while the other systems rarely have great exclusive games.

My basis for ranking is as follows: Replay value, First Impression/Wow factor, overall “fun” experience

1. Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES) A Link to the Past

2. Super Mario World (SNES) Super Mario World

2a. Super Metroid (SNES) Super Metroid

4. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time (Collector's Edition) - Nintendo 64

5. Tetris (NES)

6. Mario Kart 64 (N64) Mario Kart 64

7. Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES)

8. Toe Jam and Earl (Genesis) ToeJam & Earl

9. Chrono Trigger (SNES)

10. Resident Evil 4 (Gamecube)

11. Super Mario Bros. 2 (NES)

12. (tie) Super Mario 64 (N64)

12. (tie) Metroid Prime (Gamecube)

14. The Legend of Zelda (NES)

15. Super Mario Kart (SNES) Super Mario Kart

16. The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess (Wii) Product Details

17. Tecmo Bowl (NES)

18. Shadowgate (NES)

19. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (Gamecube) Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker

20. Donkey Kong Country (SNES)  Donkey Kong Country

school and whatever

Filed under: Bowling, Job, K-State Sports, School — Andy @ 7:05 pm

6 weeks in the can, 10 more to go.  although i really only had one tough week in the first six, the next 10 will all be tough.  survive and move on.

I'm gonna probably go ahead and apply for a job at BNSF railroad in the next few weeks in hopes that i would be hired right out of school and jump into their july training program.  I think i've got a better than average shot at that.

bowling average is right at 141 now. doing ok in league play at kstate, our team is in first place after 4 weeks.  i can't seem to bowl as well in league as i do on my own.  must be the slower pace of play in league.  or something.

looks like kstate will enter the next school year with a new football and long overdue basketball coach.  fun times.

playing a lot of video games lately, super nintendo mostly.

thats it.
