If Job had owned a car…

Filed under: Car — Andy @ 8:08 pm

I’m fairly certain he would have dealt with what i’ve dealt with the past 22 months.

Sept 2004  Car Stolen (95 acura)

Dec 2005 Timing belt destroys engine (86 toyota)

July 2006 Car totaled (94 honda)

yeah some dude barreled into me today when i was turning left at an intersection.  he kept going straight(from the other direction) when i had a green arrow.  so he crushed the passenger side of my car and the repairs are beyond its worth.  The question is my word against his and a few witnesses (that left the scene but apparently contacted the police).

oh yeah by the way i’m ok and so is the older gentleman who hit me with his lincoln towncar.

he said he had a green light and thats about all he said.  all i said was i thought i had the green arrow (the light is a duel green arrow/yield light) and circumstances would appear to validate my green arrow right of way.  It’ll probably be a while till it all gets sorted out and meanwhile i have no car….

if i win, i’ll get a check for close to the value of my car and otherwise pay nothing.  if he wins i get nothing and my ins pays his repairs and i get a bad record.   if we tie i still lose cause i dont have full coverage…but i wouldnt have any marks on my record.

sigh.  it doesnt pay to own nice things.  we are clearly meant to live simple lives and not bother too much with earthly things.  thats about all i can take from this, just like i have in the past.

  1. I’ve been thinking and praying for you since yesterday and I wanted to share this with you. I can already tell just from reading your blog that God is changing you through this situation. Just keep trusting. Thats what He ultimately wants from you. Love Jo
    James 1
    Trials and Temptations
2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.
