just finished up my 3rd day. so far its starting out pretty much like conductor school did over the summer, which was expected. got 100% on the Safety Final today which was all review for me. This is really going to be a breeze for me and its nice to get paid at the same time. only downside is the waking up early, i haven’t slept much this week but i think i’m slowly getting used to the hours.
I am liking how fast paced the class is, after the initial 3 week classroom work, its gonna be 2 months of on-the-job training, then finish up with 2 more weeks of classroom for a total of 14 weeks training. pretty cool how i’ll already be on the job here in a few weeks. also looking forward to the first paycheck.
in other news kstate’s first home basketball game (exhibition) is saturday and i’m hoping to make it to that, i got my season tickets in the mail yesterday.
Hey dude. I live in knoxville, Tn and am thinking about working for Union Pacific. (im guessing that is where your currently training) Could you tell me where the training is located in the country? And if they pay for lodging, and all that? Im really curious. Thanks!

I think for knoxville they probably would train you in kansas city, we had a guy in our class from memphis-but he was hired to work in kc so he was relocating. is that what you are going to do?
i think they have other training sessions around the country mostly near where people will end up working. They do pay for lodging if you are over 45 miles from the training site. but you are expected to eventually relocate to wherever you were hired for.
