Now that I’ve been laid off for who knows how long, I have a decision.
Choice the 1st:
Wait until I get offered a borrow-out (maybe a month or 2) and go wherever they send me for who knows how long (at least 4-6 months and possibly longer) and make a good sum of money in the process.
- Pros: some time off, then make a boatload of money (borrow-outs pay very well)
- Cons: Stuck in the middle of nowhere with no friends (unless I get sent to Avondale, LA, near Ryan which is a possibility) and no certainty as to when I will come back to KC.
Choice the 2nd:
Get a part-time job now and refuse a borrow-out. work part-time until I can hold a position in Kansas City again.
- Pros: Stay home, no temporary moving.
- Cons: giving up a lot of money.
Essentially It comes down to money. I do have a car loan that I want to pay off quickly, but its not essential. If i take the borrow-out, i can save faster for when I buy my townhome in KC.
I dunno what to do.
I might go ahead and apply for some part-time work and see if anyone hires me, that might force my hand. My lean is for the part-time thing.
