Better Coached and Athletically Superior Talent wins easily, continues march to Championships

out-rebounding, out-hustling, out physicaling, smarter coaching decisions, better guard play, and poise down the stretch are all adding up to 5-0 and 1st place in the Big 12 conference.

I think we might be starting to see the beginning of a syracuse-esq type run.  Kansas State, for the rest of the season, anytime they step on the floor they will without a doubt have the best player on the floor and against all but maybe 2 or 3 teams (none in the big 12) will have the 2nd best player on the floor.   All it takes is a few role players and solid point guard play to complete the picture and K-State is beginning to see it.

Admitedly it has taken a few months for a team with 9, yes Nine, new players (7 freshmen) and a new head coach who had never lead a team above the highschool level to get it going but get it going they have with dominant performances in the last 4 big 12 games.  The key going forward is learning to deal with success and now being the hunted where you get everyone’s best shot (although last night we did show we can beat a highly ranked team’s best possible game).

This is gonna be fun.

P.S. some of the better signs at the game:

“Take me to your leader 3″

“Is that sharron collins or mark mangino?”

Bumped Again

Not too surprisingly with the winter railroad slowdown some jobs have been cut back and I was unable to hold onto my sub board slot where i haven’t worked since Christmas.  All I can hold now is a spot going to Jefferson City, MO.  Which is fine, I liked that run back when I did it in June/July last summer.  I’ll work more, but not a ton because things are slow.  Hey whatever I’ll take anything so long as I’m not working in the railroad yard.

In other news my wii broke and I had to send it in for warrenty repair.  I’ve never had any problems with a nintendo system before so it was surprising.  the system fan stopped working and it overheated.  Now I have to wait a month to get it back :( .

K-State had a nice win in basketball last saturday winning at oklahoma for the first time since 1996 (coincidently enough the last year they made the NCAA tournament).  Now with a top 10 matchup at home against tex a&m saturday KSU has a real chance to put themselves in position for a tournament slot.  I’m not getting my hopes up just yet.

oh yeah check out this pic:

Just Saw: Juno The Shooting Script (Newmarket Shooting Scripts)

So Christmas came and went, I was mostly working but still had time for some family stuff.  Shortly after that I went to New Orleans with some friends to visit ryan over new year’s.  that was wild.  A good amount of drinks, football, hanging out, walking around downtown, partying, drinking, eating, gambling, breaking stuff, and drinking.  I had fun but i was definitely worn out by the end.

Since I’ve been back I haven’t worked yet (the railroad is in its winter ”slow” period) so i’ve been spending a lot of time with Abbie and also watching dvds and going to the gym.  I’m kinda sorta getting geared up for big 12 basketball but i dunno.  sports has been wearing on me lately.  I need something new to be fired up about, i guess the gym is it right now.

Thats really all for now.  boring i know but I rather like it that way.
