out-rebounding, out-hustling, out physicaling, smarter coaching decisions, better guard play, and poise down the stretch are all adding up to 5-0 and 1st place in the Big 12 conference.
I think we might be starting to see the beginning of a syracuse-esq type run. Kansas State, for the rest of the season, anytime they step on the floor they will without a doubt have the best player on the floor and against all but maybe 2 or 3 teams (none in the big 12) will have the 2nd best player on the floor. All it takes is a few role players and solid point guard play to complete the picture and K-State is beginning to see it.
Admitedly it has taken a few months for a team with 9, yes Nine, new players (7 freshmen) and a new head coach who had never lead a team above the highschool level to get it going but get it going they have with dominant performances in the last 4 big 12 games. The key going forward is learning to deal with success and now being the hunted where you get everyone’s best shot (although last night we did show we can beat a highly ranked team’s best possible game).
This is gonna be fun.
P.S. some of the better signs at the game:
“Take me to your leader 3″
“Is that sharron collins or mark mangino?”

I wouldn’t say KU put their best foot forward, and it certainly wasn’t their best possible game. So, I must disagree with you on that one. K-State showed they could beat the #2 team when they play poorly. KU was lost the whole game, couldn’t rebound to save their lives, and ultimately didn’t look like the team they are. Though K-State played great, at KU’s best they could still beat the Wildcats anytime, any place. Michael Beasley is one player, he isn’t God. And, we’ll see what they look like next year when Beasley goes pro. Then we’ll see the same old mediocre, crappy team that the Wildcats are.
See ya in Lawrence!

Though I admire your enthusiasm for a Wildcat victory (Yay for the first time in 25 years…and inevitably the last time in the next 25), the Big 12 really isn’t all that good of a conference. K-State will not win the Big 12 championship, and outside of the conference, they will be beaten in every aspect of the game. I’m sorry dude, I know you are excited, but let’s get real. This is K-State’s hightest point, and you know it! Have fun riding the train while it lasts though!

Oh, and by the way, I think it’s pretty awesome that K-State fans get so excited about FINALLY winning a game against KU in 25 years. It’s pretty desperate when you have to be THAT excited about your team winning against someone. That’s pretty gosh darn bad.

That has to be the most ignorant and obnoxious post I’ve ever read. Do you actually think KU played their best game?? What a joke. They looked awful. In order for K-state to win at Lawrence, they’re going to have to shoot at least 46% from behind the arc again and be half your points again and have KU’s crappy performance again. There’s no way that will happen. I would take any bet that K-State does not win the Big 12 Championship. I bet they don’t even make it to the title game. KU will be there again as usual and KU will go farther than K-State in the big Tournament in March. I also guarantee you that if you asked anyone other than a K-state fan if that win was an upset, they would say Yes it was an upset and KU is still the better TEAM. I’m pretty sure when the polls come out next week we’ll still be ranked higher than your One and half man team. I hope Beasley doesn’t sprain an ankle, because you all won’t be 500 from there on out. And congratulations on your house warming party that took 25 years. One win doesn’t make a season, you guys all have your hopes so high just to fall so low at the end.
