**I deleted my post on car ins. because my car ins. company is in the midst of fixing the issue at hand and has assured me the problem will be reversed which was attributing an “accident” from last summer that was not my fault to me.

now to the events of yesterday (friday).  I was woken up at 4pm by a call from my mom that my sister who was 8 months pregnant had to be taken to the hospital because of high blood pressure.  It was determined she would have to have her child surgically.  so I went to the hospital and around 5pm or so they started the C-section and delivered her baby girl.  Mom and child are perfectly healthy which we thank God for.

Like everyone else I wasn’t really ready for this so its still pretty surprising.  I haven’t had a chance to hold the little girl, really I haven’t felt good this week and didnt want to risk passing anything along.  I’m sure i’ll get a chance to sometime soon.

Comedy Geniuses of our time

Filed under: General Commentaries — Andy @ 8:21 pm

in no particular order, these are far and away the best current comedy writers/performers out there. Everyone else is a step below.

Ricky Gervais (The Office/Extras)

Matt Stone/Trey Parker (South Park/Team America)

Larry David (Seinfeld/Curb Your Enthusiasm)

Sacha Baron Cohen (Da Ali G Show/Borat)

Conan O’Brien (SNL/Simpsons/Late Night with Conan O’Brien)

John Swartzwelder (Simpsons-wrote more episodes than anyone else, all consistantly great)

Honorable Mention: The Coen Bros., just simply for The Big Lebowski-probably the most brilliant comedy movie ever

Berlusconi: Left has uglier women

Italian opposition leader Silvio Berlusconi has claimed that right-wing female politicians are better looking than their left-wing counterparts.

Mr Berlusconi, the centre-right’s candidate in elections this weekend, was quoted as telling local media that the left had “no taste” in women.

The conservative leader has a long record of making outlandish comments.

His remarks provoked an angry reaction from the centre-left, which accused him of being sexist.

Mr Berlusconi was quoted as saying that when he looked round parliament, he found that female politicians from the right were “more beautiful”.

“The left has no taste, even when it comes to women,” the 71-year-old was quoted as saying.

work update

Filed under: Job — Andy @ 6:48 am

for anyone who cares, over the next 2 weeks i am working a 3pm-10pm shift in the KC rail yards.  i couldn’t hold the road anymore so i had to get some re-familiarization with working on the remote control locomotive boxes.  after the 2 weeks is up i’ll either hopefully be called back to the road or i’ll work the yards for a while on a somewhat random schedule.  at least its warmer now…although probably get stuck working in the rain sometimes.

if nothing else, i’ll be sleeping in my own bed every night.

aftermath

Filed under: General Commentaries — Andy @ 11:02 pm

me=$170 richer, $260+ richer for tournament run.

the liberal ukansas fan’s lives validated, enjoy your temporary reward

if you are celebrating tnights win and you dont have a degree/student from ukansas you are a total loser

KSU beat ukansas by 9, worst loss of the season by them.  they were only 1-1 against us.

with any luck lawrence will burn to the ground…again.

i’m not setting foot in that town for a long, long time-sans a few gf-related exceptions (definite plus)

no more talk of flaw on the kaw on my blog ever again

i feel like this breaks the emotional spell sports has over me.  it was like the last straw, nothing worse can happen and i think now i can just completely ignore that school altogether.

some important revelations

Filed under: Humor — Andy @ 2:00 am

1. i figured out why i’m mostly surrounded by kansas people and not my KSU friends.  Nearly all of my KSU friends I went to college with and grew up with have used their valuable Kansas State degree and gotten real jobs, many out of state and in big cities(I managed to get a good job in KC).  hmmmm.

2. maybe i should be rooting for ukansas to win tomorrow.  i personally believe a higher than average amount of people in lawrence are agnostic/atheist/generally just don’t go to church and thus really could use a great deal of meaning in their lives…the kind that might come about from winning a ncaa championship.

3. ukansas fans: celebrating victory through male-on-male orgies since 1865

a few other things

Filed under: General Commentaries, Job, K-State Sports — Andy @ 6:43 am

i slept for 4 hours, woke up, and now can’t get back to sleep.  so i’ll post again in my lame blog.

i hope everyone saw why Micheal Beasley was a far superior player to tyler hansbrough.  essentially kansas won by going right after hansbrough because they knew instead of him contesting shots or playing any real defense that all tyler would do is try to flop and get charge calls.  the player who supposedly never takes plays off got completely worked inside, giving up numerous dunks/layups.  embarrasing.  and on offense, tyler consisntly passed up open looks to try and work inside and was dominated, even by a freshman who hardly did anything all year in cole aldrich.

beasley’s stats vs kansas in 2 games-64 points on 20-41 shooting, 17 boards, 8-11 3pters, 4 blocks

hansbrough in 1 game: 17 points, 9 boards, 0-1 3pters, 0 blocks

beasley did that with supposedly less surrounding him. rediculous anyone who voted for tyler as player of the year. beasley will far surpass anything tyler does the rest of his life.  but thats the lame east-coast hype machine for you.  whatever, least everyone could see for themselves how overated tyler was.

on another note, if kansas wins monday i think i am going to personally ban myself from lawrence.  i’m pretty sick of that place and their rediculous fanbase.  seriously, celebrate a semi-final win (5th in 20 years no less) like it was newyears/superbowlwin/4thofjuly all in one.  isn’t there still a game left? man how bad did roy hold it over you people?  i thought KSU fans were insecure.  anyway, i need to get away from all that.  i wish more of my K-State friends were around.  or i was still living in Manhattan.  oh well.

oh, also, i got bumped again on my job, i am going to have to go and work in the yard a few weeks.  sucks.  least its warming up, i survived the worst part.  shouldn’t be too long till i’m back on the road.

how have i not commited suicide

Filed under: K-State Sports, Royals, Whining — Andy @ 12:04 am

seriously there is something wrong with me.  my emotional well-being is tied up in sporting event results.  its sad and pathetic and there is seemingly no cure.  everything i root for has done nothing my whole life.  the royals haven’t made the playoffs since i was 4 years old (which of course i would have no recollection of), the chiefs have done nothing but choke and haven’t made the superbowl ever in my life.  and of course my beloved alma mater has essentially accomplished nothing with 1 single ncaa tournament victory since i was 8 years old and the football team has a lot of feel good seasons but no national champ.  the worst part is every rival to the teams i like has accomplished so much more.  like every team in the royals division has at least made the world series or the playoffs a number of times, every team in the chiefs division has been to or won the super bowl, and the spoiled chicken hawks have been to multiple ncaa tournament title games and even their football team won a bcs game last year.  cursed am i.  nothing can go right.  kansas will win it all monday.  its not fair.  i’m jealous and all i can do is whine and moan.  suck.
