Back on the road

i wrote a few weeks ago that i was back in the yard working but things picked back up (despite all the flooding) and I’m back on the road.  this time i’m going to Pratt, KS.  haven’t been on this run and i’m excited to see what its like.  supposedly it pays really well, at least compared to other runs out of KC.  The only problem is I won’t be able to be as selective with my laying off because on this run i dont get as many opportunities to work since its a longer run (mileage wise).  So scheduling might be difficult but whatever.  Gotta make a living.

I think I’m gonna lay off politics–as i originally intended with this blog–despite how fun it is to make fun of Obama.  Most people know there isn’t a chance in hell i would vote for his extreme leftist/socialist agenda anyway so whatever.

I just don’t know if my school can ever keep up with this.

summer

currently listening to: Portishead-Third

well so far the start to the summer hasn’t gone like i would have hoped.  work wise business is still slow and below last year so i haven’t been able to hold the jobs i’ve wanted to.  i’m now stuck working in the yard for the foreseeable future.  hopefully not more than a few weeks.  this is disapointing because nearly a year ago i was able to hold the road easily.  but whatever.  the weather hopefully won’t be too bad here in june and its not a huge pay cut i suppose. 

one of my closest friends-Pat-moved away last week to Sweden to start a job and live with his GF.  While this sucks, really i’m pretty used to friends moving far away.   Jason in Seattle, Ryan in New Orleans, ect.  Its almost more surprising when anyone decides to stay near KC.

I’m thinking that any kind of decent vacation this year is unlikely.  i kinda want to keep saving money so I can maybe get a house next year.  my apt rent is going up $40/month so i think i will sign a shorter lease and shoot for next summer as a possible house buying time.  I need to finish paying off my car first though.
