KU objects, KSU ignores Budweiser promotion

LAWRENCE | University of Kansas officials has joined several other universities across the county objecting to a new marketing campaign from Anheuser-Busch InBev.
However, Kansas State University officials aren’t getting involved in complaints over the Bud Light “Fan Cans” — beer cans distributed in the colors of major universities.
Jim Marchiony, associate athletics director at Kansas, says the school wrote the beer company three weeks ago to try to prevent the cans from appearing in Lawrence. He says the cans might appeal to underage drinkers, and the university didn’t want anyone to think Kansas endorsed the promotion.
But Kansas State officials say they won’t join the protest. Pat Bosco, dean of student life, says the university would object if the cans carried a Kansas State logo or picture. But he says the university “doesn’t have a trademark” on the colors purple and white.

lameness aside, its also hypocritical of ukansas because as we all know big lew lobbied to have alcohol allowed on campus so ukansas could attempt to have a better tailgating atmosphere ala KSU. lew prob just pissed he can’t make money out of these cans. what a horribly stupid place ukansas is.
Mr. Biery, I’ve got to say this was lame. I think you have officially lost your touch. This was pretty far reaching, dude. Now, I know that no matter what KU does (good, bad, harmless, or pointless) you will have some negative spin to put on it (you are definitely similar to a dem), but I have to admit, this was you trying too hard. Can you please also bash the other universities that were standing up against this as well? And, I would like proof that Lew attempted to get alcohol approved to gain a better tail gating experience than KSU. Somehow I highly doubt that because KU’s tailgates are way better than KSU. You who likes to find articles to support your points…find prove on that one, please.

i didnt have to try at all, ukans makes it all easy. seriously, how lame is it for any university to care what colors Budweiser puts on their cans? all universities sell drinking drinking accessories with their logos, its hypocritical to pretend any public school is on some sort of moral high ground.
not everything that happens in life has a link on the internet, but perkins definitely tried to get alcohol on campus and failed. trust me dude, i’m connected on these things.
good tailgating needs a big parking lot, all ukans has is a bunch of nasty student ghetto housing and trashy frats near their stadium. plus no alcohol on campus obv=lameass tailgates.
