this week i started a temp job working for a freight logistics company. basically i pull bills of lading for freight shipments and enter them into a system and i also update their freight tracking system. Hey, its a job. pays ok and i can wear jeans and listen to the radio while i work. its only guaranteed till the end of the year though so i am still seeking out other opportunities. This is all happening b/c my unemployment with the RR is expiring and it still looks like they won’t be taking me back anytime soon (No thank you Barack Obama’s America!)
Since we last spoke here on the blog, K-State beat down ukans and finished wrecking ukan’s ”historical” football season. the aftermath of mangino and his job has been some of the most entertaining sports radio i’ve heard in a long time. ukans football is pretty much screwed for a long while and i love it. As for KSU, its all looking up after a decent 6-6 season, certainly better than the last few under prince. Basketball season is here, and I’m pretty pumped for what looks like K-State’s best team in 20 years (a much more complete team than the Beasley team of a few yrs ago).
for anyone interested, my health ins expires at the end of the month so I applied (and was approved) for some disaster coverage through blue cross blue shield and its only $17/month. now, it has a $10k deductible which is rather ludicrous, but if i break my leg or get a brain tumor or my heart fails at least i won’t go into permanently crippling debt. I haven’t been to the doctor for any problems since i was 12 (strep throat i think it was) so I should be good. Its sad to think these simple and useful options for healthy people my age will go away if the liberals get their way. seriously, jail time if you don’t get health ins?? LOL expect to see me in jail someday.
